Guatemala has grown and served coffee since 1747. Fedecocagua (The Federación de Cooperativas Agrícolas Guatemala) was founded in 1969 with the aim to improve living standards for small coffee producers. There are 148 cooperative members located throughout the coffee strip of southern Guatemala. The vast majority of the members are small producers of Mayan origin. Graded as SHB (strictly hard bean) this is the highest altitude grading possible from Guatemala.
